The Tableview Shopping Centre refurb was born out of a requirement for the old mega-store of 6000m² to reduce to a 3000 m² convenience store. It needed to make use of the remaining ‘big-box’ space by adding two large sub-anchors that flank the reduced PnP store.
The resolution of this requirement gave rise to two important planning features; the new parking plate, demolished out of the existing line-shops, and the open-air, but fully covered, Plaza space. The latter presented a great spatial opportunity, leading up to the new PnP front door.
The concept uses ornamental signage paneling and iconic features to create an intriguing experience, whilst serving the branding needs of retailers and the customers sense of orientation and ease.
